Hornwort Bunch 3-5 Stems

Hornwort Bunch 3-5 Stems - Live Freshwater Aquarium Plant

Hornwort (Ceratophyllum demersum) is a beginner-friendly live freshwater aquarium plant known for its lush green foliage and suitability for background placement, creating height and visual interest. This easy-care species is a fast-growing species that quickly fills available space, providing rapid coverage.

Ships as a single bunch of 3-5 stems, ready to be separated and planted throughout your aquarium.

As a stem plant, Hornwort can be planted directly into substrate or left floating. Trim and replant top cuttings to encourage bushier, fuller growth over time.

Key Features

Hardy & Beginner-Friendly:
Tolerates a wide range of water conditions and adapts well to new aquariums, making it an excellent choice for first-time plant keepers.

Impressive Background Height:
Grows tall enough to create a natural backdrop and visual depth in larger aquarium setups.

Natural Aquatic Appearance:
Healthy green coloration provides a natural, lush look that complements fish, shrimp, and hardscape elements.

Easy Propagation:
Trim and replant stem cuttings to fill more of your tank - a cost-effective way to expand your plant collection.

Low Light Compatible:
Performs well under low to moderate lighting, making it suitable for aquariums without high-output fixtures.

Care Instructions

Lighting:
Thrives under low lighting conditions. Can tolerate moderate light but does not require high-output fixtures.

Water Conditions:
Temperature: 59-86°F
pH: 6.0-7.5

Substrate & Planting:
Plant stems directly into substrate, spaced to allow light penetration. Can also be left floating for surface cover. Trim and replant top cuttings to encourage bushy, lateral growth.

CO₂ & Fertilization:
CO₂ supplementation is not required. Liquid fertilizers and root tabs can support healthy growth but are optional for this hardy species.

Maintenance:
Trim regularly to control growth and maintain desired shape. Remove any yellowing or damaged leaves promptly.
